Sorting Through the Clutter If you somehow were able to unearth my diary amidst the clutter of my room, then you would probably find something like this... |

Wednesday, April 12, 2006 I went to a UB40 concert yesterday night. Now before you start laughing, or vowing to never read my blog ever again, or sending me hate mail, let me say this: Live music is always good. It's the energy of the audience, the sweat on the band's face, the occasional wrong key pressed on the keyboard. It's the moment that you can never recapture. Because you know that particular performance can never be repeated in its entirety ever again. So yes, even a UB40 concert can be entertaining. I knew a minimal amount about the band before going but I still had a fun time grooving along to the reggae beats. I have a very eclectic taste in music. I'll sing along to Mariah Carey's power ballads, go to the symphony so I can appreciate Prokofiev's piano concerto, scream along at Justin Timberlake's concert, sway along to James Blunt, bop my head to the local jazz band, rock out to Franz Ferdinand, and stand around for 3 hours just to see Neverending White Lights. Music is such an integral part of my life. So much so that if we butt heads regarding music, most likely we won't click. That's pretty hard to do because I pretty much listen to everything. Everything but metal. I went on a date with this guy once. We had pretty good conversation over dinner. Up until this point: me: "I listen to everything but metal" him: "Oh. Metal is my favourite kind of music". *awkward silence* We never met up again. Haha. Ah, music - my friend - thank you. You even serve as a date-screener. In memory everything seems to happen to music. - Tennessee Williams Labels: If music be the food of love... posted by Jenn | 9:33 AM | |
