Sorting Through the Clutter
If you somehow were able to unearth my diary amidst the clutter of my room, then you would probably find something like this...

Thursday, March 17, 2005

You know those friends that are there, at a drop of a hat?
You don't even have say that you need them. They already know.
Then they come have dinner with you, so that they can find out what's on your mind. And then have the audacity to want to treat you to dinner that you've dragged them out to.

You know that kind of friend, right?
The kind of friend who traded sandwiches with you at lunch. The kind of friend who got sent to the principal's office with you. The kind of friend who helped you pick up the pieces after the first boy you loved broke it. The kind of friend who helped you remember how fun it was to be single again. The kind of friend who knows your fashion sense so well that they can be your personal shopper. The kind of friend who's seen you change from a little girl to a working woman. The kind of friend who is irreplaceable. Thank you for being that friend. Thank you for tonight.
