Sorting Through the Clutter If you somehow were able to unearth my diary amidst the clutter of my room, then you would probably find something like this... |

Monday, June 28, 2004 It's been a really relaxing week. And by relaxing, I mean busy....dragonboat races, BBQs, downtown clubbing, shopping, beachside lunches, Thai dinners, garage sales, softball. But that's the fun kind of busy, so it's I'm enjoying it. I need some downtime though. Work hasn't started yet (thanks goodness!) Though I DO start work a week from today. I am soo nervous and excited. Nervous to start my first real, full-time job...but excited to see what it holds for me. So I've been mostly spending time with friends and sporadically seeing the boyfriend (since he's so busy now with two jobs on his plate). I occasionally feel restless though. I guess it's normal after being on the go everyday for the past 6 weeks. Europe Stories, Pt II May 21, 2004 "Mediterranean Don Juans" Nice is overrated. Whoever said that the beaches are beautiful here never actually laid down on the rocks they try to pass off as a beach. Isn't as nice as the name suggests. The "Mediterranean Don Juans" are also incredibly forward here. While sitting on the beach boardwalk, two 50-year-olds stop to start a conversation. They seem normal at first, just making small-talk. But then they invite us out to dinner. We politely decline, making up some excuse about having to meet up with friends later for dinner. Not deterred, they invited us out for drinks. Wow, they didn't know how to take a hint. Besides, they're FIFTY years old..what were they doing trying to pick up two 20-year-olds?! Ewwww.... May 23, 2004 "Starstruck at the Cannes Film Festival" We just happened to arrive to catch the last day of the festival. Michael Moore was just a foot away from us, as he inched by us in his black Mercedes! He was on his way to the "Palais des Festivals" to receive the festival's best picture award. We caught a glimpse of Quentin Tarantino on the red carpet too. I'm not one to be starstruck, but it must've been all the glitz and red carpet. And another bonus: the beaches here are gorgeous. Soft and sandy. We're gonna recover from the hectic Barcelona schedule by soaking up the French Riviera sun in Cannes. to be continued... posted by Jenn | 10:46 AM | |
