Sorting Through the Clutter
If you somehow were able to unearth my diary amidst the clutter of my room, then you would probably find something like this...

Thursday, January 22, 2004

I've always been a huge advocate of sleep. Ask my classmates. I miss practically all my 8:30 classes, even a few 9:30 ones. Though that probably has to do more with my laziness than my advocacy of sleep.

Since first year, I've been babbling to anyone and everyone who'd listen, that sleep is essential part of a student's life - especially right before a midterm or exam. I'd make sure I'd get at least 6 hours of sleep right before a big test. I'd forego extra studying just to get enough hours of sleep. Sure, I wouldn't have time to read chapter 8, but at least I'd know chapters 1 through 7 really well.

I can proudly say that I have never pulled an all-nighter in my entire university career. I came pretty close last term though. I had spent 15 hours straight in the computer lab (less a pee break or two), but I managed to finish everything by 6AM. I ran home and passed out right before the sun rose. So technically, it wasn't an all-nighter. :)

You see, your brain needs the sleep time to process and consolidate all the information that you've taken in. Read this for more information about the sleep study. So, no more late nights chatting on MSN, ok? Your brain will thank you.
