Sorting Through the Clutter If you somehow were able to unearth my diary amidst the clutter of my room, then you would probably find something like this... |

Friday, December 05, 2003 I'm studying for my last exam. My last exam is tomorrow. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yes, I end exams before some of you even begin. :) But it's about time I get a break. Been dealing with 5-7 exams every term for the past 4 years. But because I'm studying for my last exam, I have no motivation. So I decided to waste some time blogging. I was just thinking back to the interview with Toromont. One of the interviewers asked "Who is the most influential person in your life?" Without hesitation, I told them my father. There is no one else out there that has influenced as much as my dad. He left Hong Kong after college nearly 30 years ago to study for his Masters of Engineering at University of Ottawa. He left everything that was familiar to go to a country where he could get a better education, so that he could one day provide for his family. He had nothing coming into Canada but through hard work and determination, he has made a name for himself in the engineering world. He continues to work hard to this day, and encourage me to do the same. He gives me so much but asks for nothing in return except for my promise to set and work hard at achieving my goals. He's gone through, in his life, more than what most normal people can bear. Yet, he is not bitter, nor jaded - instead he is the model of hard work, optimism, and unconditional love. In some ways, he's the typical asian parent - hardly ever expressing his love through words. But that's okay, I don't need to hear it from him - I can feel it. posted by Jenn | 5:45 PM | |
