Sorting Through the Clutter
If you somehow were able to unearth my diary amidst the clutter of my room, then you would probably find something like this...

Warning: Mushy message ahead. If you are anti-romantic and/or don't want to hear me gushing, do not proceed.

So yesterday was the boyfriend and I's one-year anniversary.

He is the best boyfriend in the world, though he is probably also the most forgetful. I was quite upset that he totally forgot our 6-month anniversary (I know, I know...no big deal). But I just wanted him to remember it...nothing fancy.

So when he called me at 12:01 am yesterday morning to say "Happy one-year", that was already enough. It put a smile on my face that he remembered to actually call that day. We were going to save the celebration until Friday when he came up to Hamilton.

So I was walking home from night class last night. I was approaching my house when I noticed that my bedroom light was on. For a crazy moment, I thought 'hey, maybe he's here!' but I quickly dismissed that silly thought. He has class early Thursday morning. There wouldn't be any way he'd be here. Besides, we're going to go for dinner on Friday.

I made it halfway up the stairs to my bedroom, when I noticed the trail of rose petals. Oh. My. Goodness. He IS here! The trail of flowers led up to a rose on my desk and a note saying to call him.

I called him and I could tell something was up by the laughter in his voice.

"Did you like the flowers?"
"Yes, I love it. I love the whole thing. Where are you?"
"I got someone to do the flowers for me..I'm still in Toronto"
"oh. you are?"
"NO! Of course not...you think I would miss our one-year?"

So that silly boy had taken the GO bus all the way up from Toronto after he finished class to surprise me and spoil me. (He got me a gift certificate for a spa). He left this morning at 7am to catch the bus back to Toronto for his 9am class.

I have been spoiled silly. *happy sigh*
