Sorting Through the Clutter
If you somehow were able to unearth my diary amidst the clutter of my room, then you would probably find something like this...

Spiritually rejuvenated. It surprises me each time I come back from my church retreat how much I actually get out of it. Every year my church organizes an annual retreat. I usually go just because. I never expect anything from it - maybe a few good laughs while hanging out with my friends. However, I continued to be proven wrong year after year. Last year's speaker was incredibly insightful - reminding me of old truths, but presented in a different light. I didn't think this year's speaker could top last year's. Also, I've been feeling kinda spiritually stagnant lately. I went to this year's retreat feeling a bit cynical. I swear, being jaded sucks.

But I am so glad I went. This year's speaker, Peter Goodyear, blew me away with his messages. He presented ideas that I had never even thought about before. And this year's 'sharing session' was good. There was an atmosphere of openness during the last night. Seeing the younger teens in the group being open, taking up responsibility, and participating made me smile. There's hope after all. :)
