Sorting Through the Clutter
If you somehow were able to unearth my diary amidst the clutter of my room, then you would probably find something like this...

So the trip up to Muskoka was relaxing and quite nice. It blacked out up there too. But it's dark up in muskoka anyway, so really it wasn't that much different from what it normally looks like. It was just three days but I think that's as long as I can last on a family vacation :P Hehe..don't get me wrong though, it was a good time. Went kayaking, canoeing, swimming in the lake...hung out with my brother, chatted with my dad. I even got to work on my tan. I look so dark that E's brother thought I went to California for three days.

A's leaving for Calgary on Friday - for two whole years while she works on her postgrad. I'm gonna miss her a lot. E and I met each other first in grade 7 - A joined our class a few months later. The three of us quickly became good friends. We split up after grade 8 when we went our separate ways in high school. But even different high schools couldn't keep us apart. We kept in touch through phone and met up once in awhile. E took off for university first (being the brainiac that she is). We lost touch that year..I dunno why...maybe because we were in different stages of life? But A and I caught up with her the next year. Unforunately, we all moved even farther away. A went to Waterloo, I went to McMaster and L stayed in UofT. But it was the university years that pulled us closer. The summer of 2002 was awesome. It was the year of "us". The three of us all moved back to Mississauga for the summer. And we were all single. Haha...no one could hold us back. Lots of stories that year...from meeting cute guys at clubs, to numerous girls' nights out, to many girls's nights in, to working out at the Y, to summer flings. We saw each other almost every other day. And we loved it. It was the summer that recreated that bond we had in elementary school. We still talk about it - "remember that summer when we were all single?" So, we took A out for a day of fun on Sunday. We did killer rockclimbing, laughed up a storm, gave each other hand massages afterwards, ate good chinese food, and chatted over green tea. It was a great night. A, we're gonna miss you tons.

I know it's inevitable that changes occur - especially in the next couple of years. I'm still finishing my undergrad, E's climbing up that corporate ladder, and A's moving away to do her masters. But no matter where we are (in life, as well as geographically), we're still gonna have that special bond that's kept us best friends for more than a decade.
