Just when I think I could slip away unnoticed, my wonderful friends throw me a surprise going-away BBQ. I ruined the surprise about an hour before it happened (yes, I know...this year has been the year of ruined surprises), but I was still so genuinely surprised at their thoughtfulness. Thanks guys, you made me happy.
Speaking of ruined surprises, I should really learn to just be ignorant sometimes. I am much too curious for my own good.
In about 12 hours so or so, I'll be stepping out onto New Found Land.
A bit more anxious and sad than I am excited. But I've been reassured time and time again that I'll have a great time there.
Bye bye Ontario. I'll miss you. See you in awhile.
