This is for katie (and all the other asian kids out there who have "unpleasable" parents):
The fact that you're IN university means that you're incredibly smart. Don't let your parents bring you down like that. Unfortunately, a lot of asian parents don't realize the harm they're doing by always comparing their kids to others. They don't realize how well you're actually doing in life. They only see the letter grade on the report card - they don't see how hard you work at your part-time job, how much time you spend on schoolwork, how much of your energy you devote to special people in your life.
Don't measure your own self-worth with your parent's measurement stick. It's not long enough to measure how much you are actually worth and how much potential you have.
