Sorting Through the Clutter
If you somehow were able to unearth my diary amidst the clutter of my room, then you would probably find something like this...

Before every dragonboat race, our coach is always telling us to rest up. However, we all went to REV nightclub in waterloo on Friday (including our coach - who drank way more than anyone else!). To our credit, we DID leave early (around 1:30-ish). Ten of us crashed at Wendy's place afterwards. After an hour and a half of bathroom rotations, everyone settled in to sleep. We woke up 2 hours later to get to the waterloo dragonboat race site. I thought - Ok, this will be an interesting race. Surprisingly, we made amazing race times - and ended up third place in our final race of the day. We even took home the "loudest team" award. Yay for Holy Mac-Row!! We came to the conclusion that partying it up and drinking will help us race better. We're gonna apply that theory next year.

Sunday afternoon was my church's summer BBQ/potluck. I didn't know I could have such a fun time with the parents/older folks in my church. We played some pretty ridiculous games for icebreakers. This one "uncle" really played it up for the younger crowd when some of the girls asked him to show them his dance moves. He's an avid social dancer. and I could tell he was a bit of a flirt and enjoyed being in the spotlight. So he starts gyrating his hips. It was pretty hilarious and the younger crowd was egging him on - until his wife came in, slapped his arm, and told him off. She was obviously hurt by his flirtatiousness and embarrased that she had to step in to stop him. You know, that "uncle" reminded me of the boyfriend - a bit of a flirt, spotlight-grabber, and sometimes unable to distinguish what's appropriate and what's not. It made me wonder if that's what it's going to be like one day.
